Description

Observations and recording during groundworks for new public information boards at four locations around Hambledon Hill. The works were a condition of local authority planning consent (2/2019/1068/ADV) and, for one sign at the edge of the inner ditch of the outworks to the south east entrance, Scheduled Monument Consent (S00221 161). This penetrated into the upper silts of the ditch and the stabilisation layer above. No significant archaeology and no artefacts were revealed in the other groundworks.
