Description
Evaluation of a site proposed for a new access ramp as part of improvements to the setting of the Roman Town House. The evaluation consisted of the excavation of one L-shaped trench. This revealed the remains of a cinder path of probable 19th-century origin above a series of silty clay deposits with frequent chalk, consistent in composition with the known make-up of the upper layer of the Roman bank/rampart.
