Description
Geophysical survey of a grid area totalling 100m x 40m (10 x 20m²). Aerial photographic, historical documentation and cartographic evidence denote this parcel of land as being the former site of a four gun (3.7 in) Heavy Anti Aircraft Battery (HAA), built in 1940 as part of a national air defence network to protect key installations, in this instance the Royal Naval base at Portland and Weymouth town centre.
