Description
Evaluation of an area of approximately 31ha consisting of the excavation of 33 trenches in arable fields. Archaeological features were recorded across the site, with a concentration of ditches and a pit in the north-eastern part of the site, and coinciding with anomalies recorded by geophysical survey. Late Iron Age/Roman material was recovered from the ditches, and this was interpreted as part of a Late Iron Age enclosed settlement. A further pit and five ditches were undated, but on the same broad alignment as the Late Iron Age/Roman ditches and historic field boundaries.
