Description
A watching brief was commissioned by the owner of the building in relation to planning consent for an extension and laying of water pipes at the rear of the property. The groundworks included the digging of three trenches following the stripping of topsoil. Modern made ground was found in three trenches on top of natural clay. Finds were glass and ceramic of the 19th and 20th century relating to the previous use of the building as a public house. Any archaeological deposits had probably been destroyed by the erection of post-medieval buildings.
