Description

Observations and recording during trenching for underground cables within and adjacent to the scheduled area. The cable trench was positioned to create the least possible amount of damage, and was excavated by machine using a toothed bucket; it was approximately 0.5m wide and up to 1.2m deep. Three wall footings were recorded and interpreted as likely to be associated with Manor Farm, probably relatively modern outbuildings. Two large ditches were recorded, and thought likely to be associated with the earthworks, though no dating evidence was found.
