Description
An archaeological evalution was commissioned by the Watton Hill Trust in relation to a planing application for a new dwelling. The proposed site was adjacent to a site where, in 1965, a Roman burial in a lead coffin had been found. Two trenches, each measuring 15m by 1.6m, positioned at right angles, in relation to the footprint of the proposed dwelling, were machine-excavated. No features finds or deposits of archaeological significance were revealed.
