Description

Observations and recording during digging of test pits and groundworks for installation of a biomass boiler building. Two garden walls were exposed in the area of the house and formal gardens, both depicted on the 1841 Tithe Map. A small stone-built structure was also recorded in this area, south of the house. A small part of the foundations of the 17th-century south-east block was exposed, but no dating evidence recovered. In the field west of the house the remains of a probable hollow way was recorded and, also in this field but further west, a number of stone-filled field drains.
