Description

Observations and recording during groundworks for an extension on the north-eastern side of the church revealed part of the foundations of the church, built in 1840, and a stone-lined drain associated with it. This drain cut the grave of an adult in a coffin; of 18th/19th-century date, this burial was thought likely to be earlier than the present church. A feature earlier than the burial, but of unknown date and function, was also recorded.
