Description

Observations and recording during topsoil stripping for a new quarry, a topsoil storage area and haul road. No archaeological features were observed but a concentration of struck flint was recorded in the north-eastern corner of the site. This assemblage was thought probably to be of Middle to Late Bronze Age date. Sparse topsoil finds ranged from Iron Age/Roman to post-medieval and modern, and were probably the result of manuring.
