Description
Excavation and watching brief was undertaken to the south of Manor Farm and the Pimperne pumping Station, as part of the Wessex Water Corfe Mullen to Salisbury water transfer scheme archaeological mitigation. A range of archaeological features were recorded including a cluster of pits of Bronze Age date and a scatter of other Bronze Age and undated pits, a number of ditches, gullies and lynchets, a sparse scatter of isolated postholes and two isolated undated inhumation burials.
At the northern end of the site part of a hengiform pit circle was found.
