Description

Examination of all areas stripped of overburden, amounting to just under 0.1ha. A machine with toothless bucket was used to remove topsoil and overburden down to the top of natural or archaeological deposits, which were then cleaned and investigated by hand as necessary. A singled curvilinear gully was seen in the northern part of the stripped area. This feature had a terminal at the southern end, then curved to the north-west, petering out after approximately 15 metres. A single very abraded sherd of Late Iron Age/Romano-British pottery was recovered from the terminal end of the gully.
