Description

Observations and recording during digging of inspection pits for three geotechnical boreholes in the grounds of Portland House, as part of a wider geotechnical investigation of the coast between Bincleaves and Sandsfoot as part of the Portland Harbour NW Shore Coastal Erosion Study. The three boreholes formed a roughly north-south transect down the eastern side of the garden. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were revealed.
