Description

The evaluation has shown that the use of make-up layers and geotextile sheet has been effective in protecting the Battery Bank scheduled monument. The work also identified historic rutting on top of possible residual bank material, and a massive ditch, presumably the original quarry for the bank's construction. This had been recut on a smaller scale. No dating evidence was found for the ditches, nor the bank or its breaching. Information from OASIS Online Form.
