Description
Observations and recording during groundworks for improvements to water mains adjacent and to the south of the B3069. A trench approximately 0.60m wide and 1.2m deep in an easement around 1.5m wide was dug by machine. No archaeological features or deposits were observed. The archaeologists on site noted the lack of intervening soil between topsoil and natural rock on the higher ground, indicating erosion due to ploughing, likely to have truncated or destroyed any archaeological features.
