Description

Two trenches each 20m long were excavated by machine under archaeological supervision. A linear earthwork running north-south across the site was shown to be natural in origin, though it had influenced later land use. Medieval features comprising a ditch, a possible pit and a trackway were found east of this bank. To the west a shallow pit and a ditch, both undated, were observed.
