Description

Archaeological monitoring during emergency repair work to a burst water main adjacent to the A35 and north of the Poor Lot barrow group (SM 22926). A small rubber-tracked excavator was used to strip an area approximately 2.6m by 1.8m, which was then excavated to a depth of around 1.8m. No archaeological finds or features were exposed and no damage caused to the Scheduled Monument.
