Description

Geophysical survey of three fields, around 70ha in total. This confirmed the presence of a Roman road, visible as a double-ditched feature. In addition a number of anomalies were interpreted as enclosures, probably farmsteads of late prehistoric/Romano-British date. A larger complex of enclosures, perhaps stock enclosures, was also seen, as well as a number of linear anomalies interpreted as field boundaries. A number of discrete features seen across the whole site were interpreted as probable quarry pits of uncertain date.
