Description

Cotswold Archaeology undertook an archaeological evaluation of the route of the proposed Corfe Mullen to Salisbury Water Transfer Scheme between July and December 2012. A total of 47 trenches were excavated in Dorset. Trench 77 was located on Keyneston Down to the south east of Buzbury Rings . It measured 30m by 1.8m, with an extension at the southern end. It was positioned to evaluate geophysical anomalies 233 and 234. Three small undated ditches (77005, 77007, 77008) two of which corresponded to the geophysical anomalies were excavated. All three were undated. [1] [2] The record for this event has been created with support from Wessex Water.
