Description
Area A9 is a detailed gradiometer survey area, which formed part of the larger geophysical survey undertaken along the route of a new water supply main between the Wessex Water works at Corfe Mullen, Dorset to Camp Hill Storage Tank near Salisbury, Wiltshire.
No anomalies of probable archaeological origin have been identified in area A9.
Possible archaeology is represented by several positive linear responses indicative of former cut features of possible archaeological origin (Anomalies 426-429), two discrete positive responses indicative of former cut features such as in-filled pits (Anomaly 430) and several magnetic spikes in the centre of the area indicative of ferrous materials (Anomaly 431).
The record for this event has been created with support from Wessex Water.
