Description
Area A8 is a detailed gradiometer survey area, which formed part of the larger geophysical survey undertaken along the route of a new water supply main between the Wessex Water works at Corfe Mullen, Dorset to Camp Hill Storage Tank near Salisbury, Wiltshire.
No anomalies of probable archaeological origin have been identified in area A8.
Possible archaeology is represented by several positive linear responses indicative of former cut features of possible archaeological origin (Anomalies 401-420), a number of discrete positive responses are identified across the area, indicative of former cut features such as in-filled pits (Anomaly 421) and several magnetic spikes indicative of ferrous materials (Anomaly 422).
The record for this event has been created with support from Wessex Water.
