Description
An archaeological evaluation undertaken to provide information to inform the determination of planning application (Purbeck District Council reference 6/2011/0816) for a proposed new dwelling. A single trench 7.5m long and around 0.5m wide was excavated by machine, representing some 7.5% of the footprint of the new building. It was excavated to a maximum depth of 1.2m, subsequent to the removal of 0.5m of modern overburden from the site. No archaeological features were observed.
