EDO5758 - Newton Lane, Verwood; desk-based assessment 1996

Review of existing archaeological and historical data for the site and immediate vicinity. The authors concluded that the area was unlikely to have been enclosed from heathland before around 1938, that undulations in the centre of the field could not be show to be of archaeological origin, and that there was no positive evidence to show that the area was used in the local ceramic industry at any time (though evidence for the full extent of this industry is scant).
