Description
An evaluation of an area (Area C, also known as Heron Grove) adjacent to Henbury Pit. A mechanical excavator was used to dig three trenches, comprising 1.3% of the application area. A number of post holes, pits, gullies, and spreads of occupation material were recorded in the southern part of the area; a continuation of the prehistoric settlement recorded in Area B. A feature interpreted as a probable Bronze Age ceremonial site was also recorded.
