Description

Archaeological observations and recording during groundworks. Removal of topsoil by machine exposed predominantly modern features associated with the garden. Excavation of a soakaway and service trenches revealed a deep loam topsoil with a few 18th- and 19th-century finds of no special significance. Landscaping for creation of the garden appears to have removed any medieval deposits.
