Description

Terrain Archaeology undertook a desk-based assessment of the site of a proposed new first school in the grounds of Hamworthy Middle School, Ashmore Close. The assessment concluded that the survival of archaeological remains on the site was high as it lay immediately west of an area of extensive Roman ditches and salterns found at Shapwick Road.
