EDO5651 - Manor Farm Quarry, Quarry Lane, Melbury Abbas; evaluation (Stage 2) 2007

Further to the trench evaluation carried out by AC Archaeology during September 2006, five additional evaluation trenches totalling 60 m in length x 2 m in width were opened. The purpose was to determine whether further archaeological features were present in the area around those earlier trenches which had produced evidence of Bronze Age activity. Of the five new trenches opened, only one proved to have any archaeological remains of significance in the form of one linear feature and one sub-circular feature of Middle to Late Bronze age date.
