Description

A small excavation carried out in 1976 by the Shaftesbury and District Archaeological Group revealed a section of stone wall running perpendicular to a stream. This was interpreted as possibly part of a mill or a watercourse. A large fragment of quern stone and a window mullion fragment were found nearby. The excavation lay adjacent to an 18th century bakehouse. (1)
