Description

Thames Valley Archaeological Services was commissioned by Land and Mineral Management Ltd to carry out an archaeological evaluation. Tihis was in advance of an proposed extension to the quarry and comprised of the excavation of six trenches, each measuring 30m by 2m, excavated using a 360ยบ machine equipped with a ditching bucket. Four struck flints were recovered from the topsoil on the site, and consisted of three flakes and a core fragment. None of these were dateable. No other archaeological finds or features were discovered.
