Description
AC Archaeology carried out observations during groundworks for a new dwelling, garage and access at the junction of Bird’s Lane and North Street in Charminster.
The topsoil had an average depth of 0.20m and comprised of a mid to dark brown, friable, silt clay, with frequent chalk flecks and fragments, occasional flint fragments and nodules, and occasional modern inclusions of brick and tile. The weathered chalk surface was exposed across the site, and no archaeological finds or features were observed.
