Description
CgMs Consulting undertook an archaeological desk-based assessment of land to the north of Park Lane, Wimborne during 2007. The work was conducted on behalf of John Lewis PLC in advanced of the proposed development of the former Wimborne Cricket Ground for a new Waitrose Supermarket.
No scheduled monuments, listed buildings or other known archaeological sites had previously been recorded for the study area. While it was acknowledged that that there is archaeological activity to the west of the site in Wimborne Minster town centre, a low potential was identified for all periods within the study area itself.
