Description

Observations and recording during the groundworks for residential development. Two 1m by 1m trenches for percolation tests were observed, revealing a very dark brown sandy loam up to 1m thick, interpreted as a 'dark earth' build up, and observations of subsequent excavations for beam trenches indicated this extended across the site. No features or deposits of archaeological interest were observed.
