AC archaeology was commissioned by Ipsus Developments Limited to carry out an archaeological evaluation in connection with planning applications for residential development. Two trenches, 1.2m wide and in total 5.5m in length, were excavated by machine.
Evidence for medieval occupation was observed at a depth of approximately 500mm below existing ground level. Features recorded included possible pits and ditches containing twelfth to thirteenth-century pottery and other finds.
