Description

C.E. Bean wrote that 'Burials are reported to have been found when St. Swithin's Road and North Road were constructed…' cutting through the 'island' formed by the junction of Newland, Hound Street and Newland Garden. (1) These roads were not in existence when the 1st edition OS map was surveyed but were in existence by the time of the 2nd (revised) edition.
