Description

During alterations to the Dorchester Prison buildings in the second half of the 19th century, the remains of a medieval aisled hall were discovered (1). The precise date of this event is not known, but it has been suggested that it was during the major rebuilding of the Prison in 1884-5 (2). This event may be the same as that recorded in EDO4477.
