Description

Piggott lists a B1 Beaker from Dorchester, stating it is in private hands (1). A field investigation was made by J. Rigg of the Ordnance Survey in 1954, but no further information was obtained on this find (2) (3). The information in Piggott is taken from Abercromby (4). The beaker is in fact in Dorset County Museum and was recovered from the Masonic Hall on Princes Street (according to a marginal note by C. S. Prideaux in the copy of Abercromby in Dorset County Museum).
