Description

King’s Arm Hotel (No 30 30A High East Street) is a late 18th or early 19th century building of three storeys and attics with stuccoed front. A projecting porch with Roman Doric columns supporting an entabulature can be seen on the main front. The late 18th/early 19th century chequer brick stables and outbuildings which back on to Friary Lane include the Kings Arms Tap public house of two storeys which may have originally been a stable building. Grade 2* The site was surveyed by 'J.G.B' of the Ordnance Survey Archaeological Division on the 10 October 1980. His field notes are recorded on the OS record card as follows: No change; name confirmed.
