Description

A field survey was conducted at the site of a bowl barrow within Poundbury Camp, by J. Rigg of the Ordnance Survey Archaeological Division on the 1 September 1954. His field notes are recorded on the OS record card as follows: 'A ditchless grass covered bowl barrow, 31.0m diameter and averaging 1.5 m high. No “chalk berm or dwarf vallum” could be traced.' (1)
