Description

In 1965 C J S Green observed the excavation of a telephone cable trench on the north side of South Walks opposite the NW corner of Southfield House, Dorchester. The apex of a ridge in the natural chalk was observed and suggests the presence of a multiple defensive ditch around the Roman toan at this point.
