Description
Observations by several persons over the last five years during development of the Poundbury Trading Estate have located a short length of the Dorchester Roman Aqueduct.
An angled section of the large phase 2 recut of the aqueduct is still visible in the car park of Dean's Computer Services. Across the road from Dean's the aqueduct has been cut away and the stained chalk plan of the phase 1b aqueduct was observed here. Close to the edge of the service road to Poundbury Trading Estate another narrower channel was briefly visible. This may be the aborted phase 1a channel running about 1m lower than the phase 1b section.
