Description

During the excavation of the foundations of the new Hospital Boiler-house (SY 69059055) post-holes were visible in section on the north wall of the excavation. No other signs of building were noticed, but sherds of Romano-British coarse ware, the base of a New Forest ware pot, fragments of roof tiles and sherds of later pottery were picked up from the various spoil heaps (DCM 1958.14).
