Description

Terrain Archaeology undertook a watching brief on the insertion of new steps into Salisbury Walks. Unfortunately, the site was not observed and recorded until after the steps had been inserted. The new steps cut through part of the Roman defensive rampart along the east side of the Roman town. Very little of the make-up was exposed, but the bank appeared to be constructed from layers of chalk rubble, gravel, and grey silty soil. No dating evidence was recovered.
