Description

This barrow was excavated by C Green in 1959–60 prior to levelling, and proved to have been built in two stages. Initially there had been a small barrow containing a primary crouched inhumation, tightly bound with thongs, above which was an adult female inhumation accompanied by a child. The barrow was enlarged and in it were found several later cremations associated with various types of cinerary urn. Three pagan Saxon inhumations had been inserted into the mound.
