Description

A series of 24 test pits (0.5m square) were excavated by Exeter Archaeology in advance of proposed fence and hedge replacement and upgraded entrance path. Nineteen of these were along the edge of West Walks and revealed deposits associated with the defences or the walks. The remaining testpits revealed no significant archaeological features.
