Description
An archaeological evaluation on the site of a proposed vehicle hire depot was carried out by AC Archaeology in April 1996. Three small trenches were excavated.
Trench 3 was oriented NW-SE, measured 8m x 1.6m in plan and was excavated to a depth of up to 0.6m onto natural chalk. 0.4m of Made Ground lay above 0.2m of silty clay subsoil containing chalk and flints, which lay above natural chalk. No finds or features were recorded from this trench.
