Description

Flood alleviation work carried out on the River Allen, Wimborne, revealed extensive spreads of fen peat and alluvial sediments. Two sequences along the course of the River Allan in Wimborne have been examined from cores obtained by both Russiona/Jowsey corer for the upper levels and a 5cm gouge corer for the lower levels.
