Description

An excavation was conducted by Jake Keen in 1982 during the construction of 10 Penny's Mead, Cranborne. A pit containing Saxon pottery, stone and metal artefacts had been discovered during construction of the house and subsequently excavated by Jake Keen. The bulk of the occupation debris recovered during the excavation dates to the Middle Saxon period and is of considerable regional importance.
