Description

During construction of the Purbeck to Southampton Pipeline an isolated ditch was seen in the pipe trench beneath the present road surface at the start of the Kingston Lacy Beech Avenue. The ditch, which had been truncated by the present road surface, was excavated. It ran north-west to south-east and a small piece of pottery from the filling of the ditch was possibly of Iron Age date.
