Description
Earthworks noted in the course of a site visit on 23 September 1997 were interpreted, in conjunction with surviving field boundaries, as the remains of a medieval landscape. In particular, a north-south hedgerow dividing the site was thought possibly to represent a furlong demarcation. The higher ground level to the east of this hedge could represent a possible lynchet. Earthworks to the west of the hedgerow were identified as possible settlement remains. Fragments of post-medieval Verwood pottery were recovered from molehills close to the eastern edge of the site.
