Description
In 1972 Iron Age pottery was found just to the south of 29 Knights Road, Bearwood, Poole and subsequently Poole Museum undertook a salvage excavation of the area. An area of about 13 m by 15 m was excavated, which revealed a V-shaped ditch, five small pits and 28 post holes. The ditch contained Iron Age pottery and a hoard of four iron currency bars was found at the base. The features are thought to belong to an Iron Age hill-slope enclosure settlement. (1)
